About me

Welcome to My Blog

Hi, I’m Allan. I’m an independent machine learning engineer and systems architect, working at the intersection of AI, high-performance computing (HPC), and scientific research.

I’ve always been fascinated by complex systems how individual parts come together into coherent, working wholes. That fascination drives my work today: building AI systems for science.

What I Do

I specialise in:

My philosophy: engineering is not just about narrow specialisation. It’s about integration, seeing how everything fits together. That’s why I call myself an AI systems engineer for science.

Projects

Here are a few of the projects I’ve been building recently:

  1. NexaBio – protein structure prediction models (secondary & tertiary) optimised for speed and scale.
  2. Nexa Deep Research Agent – an AI-powered research automation system that generates structured reports using search and LLMs.
  3. Nexapod – a distributed scientific compute platform inspired by Folding@Home, designed to tackle large-scale molecular science challenges.
  4. NexaInference – a lightweight, custom inference engine for serving AI models without relying on third-party services.

About This Blog

This blog is my place to think out loud. I’ll be writing about:
